Fertility
The preconception period is a crucial time to take intentional steps toward optimizing both your health and fertility. I work with individuals and couples to establish a strong foundation for a healthy pregnancy. By prioritizing your health during this time, you have the opportunity to impact the long-term health of your future child from the very start. In fact, your nutritional status, lifestyle habits, and overall wellness prior to conception can have a lasting impact on future generations.
If you're navigating irregular menstrual cycles, hormonal imbalances, or conditions such as PCOS, uterine fibroids, or endometriosis, I design holistic, individualized protocols to address underlying issues and support your reproductive health.
For those facing infertility, I take a comprehensive, personalized approach to help you identify and address possible root causes and provide the knowledge and tools to navigate this challenging journey with confidence. If you're considering assisted reproductive technologies (ART), I offer guidance on how to support these treatments holistically, ensuring that your body is as prepared as possible for the process ahead.
Whether you're just beginning your preconception journey or seeking help with specific fertility challenges, I’m here to provide personalized support with a holistic approach every step of the way.
Nutrition Support
Pregnancy
Pregnancy can be such an exciting time, but it can also be a time full of unknowns and uncertainty. You have many decisions to make over the course of your pregnancy. While you’re picking out baby names and organizing baby clothes, it's important to make your nutrition a priority as well.
Proper nutrition is essential for both you and your baby, but figuring out what to eat during pregnancy can be very confusing. The nutrients that are supplied to your baby must come from the foods you eat, otherwise, they will be taken from your own body. This depletion of your reserves can have many unfortunate consequences on your own health.
With the support of a Certified Nutrition Consultant, it’s possible to reduce your chances of "morning" sickness (more appropriately: all day, any time nausea!), fatigue, constipation, heartburn, mood swings, pre-eclampsia, anemia, gestational diabetes, postpartum depression, and more.
Nourishing your pregnancy will help your baby build solid bones, a strong immunity, healthy tissue and organs. It’s also possible to reduce their risk of birth defects, low birth weight, allergies, conditions such as eczema or asthma, and many potential health problems later in life.
Postpartum
So much of a new mother's attention is focused on her newborn in the beginning. Understandably so, but it's really important that a new mother is also taken care ofl! Her health must be made a priority as well so that she has the energy and clarity for her new role in motherhood.
During pregnancy, your body is completely devoted to your baby, but taking the time to be mindful of your own nutrition once the baby arrives isn’t self-indulgent, it’s necessary.
You’re well aware that your new addition has robbed you of a full night's sleep, but did you know that pregnancy and breastfeeding could also deplete your body's nutrient stores? After pregnancy, you are more susceptible to anemia, osteopenia, fatigue, and depression.
If you're breastfeeding, what you eat can also directly affect the quality of your breast milk. Consuming a nutrient-dense diet will enrich your milk with the nutrients necessary to help your baby's brain and body grow and develop.
This is where I come in - to support you with an individualized nutrition plan to help you safely balance your body while replenishing your reserves so you can feel your best.
Infants
Starting solids is such an exciting milestone in your baby's life. However, it can be a confusing time for parents that is filled with uncertainty and seemingly limitless questions about how and when to take this step. I can assist you in finding an approach to starting solids that feels right for you and your baby — whether that's baby-led weaning, purees, or a combination of the two.
You have the incredible opportunity to help ensure that your baby establishes a strong start right from the beginning.
Nourishing the first 24 months has a profound impact on a child’s health and eating habits in the future. Nutritionally speaking, these are the most impressionable years of life and it’s critical to understand which nutrients your little one needs for optimal growth.
I'll offer clear information on how to introduce age-appropriate foods for your baby that will best support their growth and development and provide the foundation for long-term health.
I'll also support you in navigating any challenges that arise along the way, such as allergies, food sensitivities, eczema, or constipation.
I love supporting parents to make empowered and educated decisions about how they nourish their little ones, so that mealtimes can be an enjoyable and less-stressful experience for everyone.
